Another picture into sketch

here is another example of what you can do when turning a picture into a sketch.
To get the pencil to look like it is on top of the drawing, i took a fuzzy select tool and erased the picture portion that was above the pencil. The instructions on how to turn a picture into a sketch are a few posts down the page.

Hybrids

I lost my flash drive, so there wont be any posts for a while. not like there is anyone really following my blog right now... but still
this one is fairly simple, you just cut and paste a new layer (in this case a frog) and erase (with a soft brush tool)the areas you don't want on your picture

Picture into sketch

In gimp I have turned my picture of the deception pass bridge into a sketch.
Above is the original picture i took
And to the left is what i made in gimp

with this picture, i took a picture of lined paper and pne of deception pass bridge.
then in another window i took my picture of the deception pass bridge and turned it greyscale.
then i pasted it into the lined paper image and scaled it.
after it was scaled, i photocopied it (Filters>Artistic>Photocopy) and played with the settings until it looked relatively like a sketch.
then i used the color to alpha tool to erase the white parts i didn't want on my lined paper (colors>color to alpha) (alpha to white should be automatic)
and then perspective it (should be in your toolbox... if not then Tools>transformTools>Perspective. or shift+P)
